About Chaupaati
Chaupaati is India's phone bazaar. Chaupaati Bazaar enables 300 million Indian consumers to order branded products over the phone. With Chaupaati, consumers do not need computers, Internet connections or even the ability to read in order to buy. Anyone with a mobile phone can call a number, speak in their native language and quickly order products sourced directly from brands and exclusive distributors. Chaupaati has enabled sales of Rs. 15Cr of products since July 2008 and is growing rapidly across India. E-bay India's Country Head summed it up in a recent panel at ISB, "Heard about Chaupaati Bazaar, start-up by ex-IIT Bombay folks. They seemed to have cracked it. Mobile deals work better in Indian market." Chaupaati has been covered by regional and mainline newspapers and TV channels. Wharton and ISB students have written and published case studies on Chaupaati. Consumer brands are using our services to build a pan-India direct-to-consumer channel powered by phone pe deal. With phone pe deal, brands can create an alternate channel that is risk-free and profitable from day one and has potential of enabling 10% of all sales within the first year. Such channels are being created for leading brands in mobiles, computers, home appliances, books, magazines and gifts. Chaupaati's mission is to aggregate the commerce between consumers, small businesses and brands in India, and make it easily accessible.
